Serbia advocates stronger cooperation, preservation of stability in region

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic met today with Director for South and Central European Affairs in the US State Department Matthew Palmer, who is on an official visit to Belgrade.

The two officials agreed that the relations between the two countries are good and have prospects for further growth.
They expressed readiness for the continuation of political dialogue and regular contacts at all levels which are important for the improvement of overall bilateral cooperation.
Palmer and US Ambassador to Serbia Kyle Scott, who attended the meeting, thanked Minister Dacic for his visit to Washington, where he attended the 65th National Prayer Breakfast in early February.
At the meeting it was noted that the preservation of stability and strengthening cooperation among the countries of the Western Balkans is essential for their prosperity.
Dacic reiterated that one of the most important goals of Serbia is fostering good neighbourly relations and preserving regional stability, and in this regard, he expressed the readiness of our country to address that issue in an open and constructive approach, as it has been doing to date, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
