First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic received today Special Representative of the UN Secretary General and Head of UNMIK Zahir Tanin, as part of his regular visits to Belgrade before the forthcoming session of the UN Security Council on the work of UNMIK.

The two officials spoke about the current situation in Kosovo-Metohija and the operation of UNMIK, and stressed the importance of further engagement of this mission in unreduced volume in the areas that are key to the survival and a normal and dignified life of Serbs and other non-Albanian communities in Kosovo-Metohija.
Dacic expressed particular appreciation for the efforts made in the implementation of the mandate of UNMIK, as well as the expectation that the mission will continue the implementation of its mandate in accordance with Resolution 1244 of the UN Security Council, reads a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
