First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic had talks in Washington with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Hoyt Yee, who is in charge of US policy towards Serbia and the Western Balkan Six.

The two officials positively assessed bilateral relations with special reference to their further improvement and concluded that it is important to increase mutual trade and US investment in Serbia.
Dacic and Hoyt Yee also spoke about the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, and the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State underlined that the United States gives full support to the dialogue, easing of tensions and direct communication.
It is estimated that regional cooperation is burdened by the past, but that only with Serbia’s involvement it is possible to improve relations in the region, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
