Dacic wishes Happy Lunar New Year to foreign minister of China

Belgrade, 28 January 2017

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic sent today to Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Wang Yi greetings over the Lunar New Year, with the belief that it will bring new projects that will further strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

The official website of the Serbian government brings the greeting card of Minister Dacic in full:

"On the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year, accept my warmest greetings and best wishes for further all-round development, growth and prosperity of the People's Republic of China and the general welfare of the friendly Chinese people, and for your good health, success and personal happiness.

I am sure that the new lunar start will bring new joint successes, joys and significant results in the relations between our two countries, which will also be celebrated by many generations after us.

A sincere and close friendship that has connected our peoples and states for many decades, as well as mutual trust and understanding of the most important issues are the main foundation of relations between Serbia and China, as well as cooperation within the mechanism of cooperation between China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and the One Belt, One Road initiative, to which Serbia attaches great importance.

I take this opportunity to thank you once again for the warm reception during our recent meeting in Beijing and expressed hospitality, which made me feel at home and why I always look forward to come back to China.

Our conversation, as well as the meetings that I had with other Chinese officials in Beijing and Tianjin on that occasion, assured me that we will have many more reasons for joy and pride over the success of the cooperation that lies ahead us.

I am convinced that the Lunar New Year will bring a new energy, ideas and opportunities for new projects, which will further strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership between Serbia and China, thereby bringing the benefit to the Serbian and Chinese peoples.
