Strengtening economic ties between Serbia, Iraq

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic met today with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq Ibrahim Al Jafaari to speak about further steps to improve economic cooperation between the two countries.
Ljajic and Al Jaafari stressed that an agreement on economic, trade and scientific-technical cooperation should be signed soon, to be the basis for strengthening economic ties between Serbia and Iraq.
The ministers during the meeting defined the field of construction, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, tourism and ICT as economic sectors that should lead to an increase in the volume of trade between the two countries.
Accordingly, Minister Al Jaafari urged all interested companies from Serbia, especially those in the field of construction, infrastructure and IT sectors, to participate in the reconstruction work in Iraq, according to a statement from the Office of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications.
