Dacic pointed out that last year the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was fully engaged in the implementation of foreign policy priorities of the Republic of Serbia.
We opened four new negotiation chapters with the European Union and by actions demonstrated a sincere commitment to our most important foreign policy goal - full membership in the European Union. I think that we have the right to expect that the process of Serbia's EU accession be intensified and to open more negotiation chapters in 2017, the First Deputy Prime Minister stated.
At the same time, we have established a high level of cooperation with other important international partners - the Russian Federation, the United States, China, with almost all member states of the European Union, with neighbouring countries and with the countries of the African Union, the Non-Aligned Movement and many other states and organisations from around the world, he said.
A special focus was placed on preserving regional stability and mitigating the consequences of the migrant crisis.
In 2017 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to fight for the preservation of the territorial integrity of Serbia, which has never, nor will it ever shun dialogue with anyone, including representatives of Pristina.
Dacic also announced the establishment of legal framework and an appropriate structure of economic diplomacy, adding that with its progress and stability, Serbia contributes to the development of the entire region, and that only such Serbia can be and is a recognised and respected partner in the whole world.
