Dacic and Tornstrom discussed the cooperation of Serbia with the Council of Europe and the current issues and priorities of the Congress and they estimated that the cooperation is good, with a keen interest for further intensification.
Both sides emphasised the importance of continuing the status-neutral activity of the Council of Europe, including the Congress, on the promotion of human rights, the rule of law and democracy in Kosovo-Metohija.
The Congress brings together representatives of over 200,000 units of local and regional authorities from the 47 member states of the Council of Europe and contributes to promoting local and regional democracy, local and regional governance and the strengthening of local self-government in Europe.
The Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe today marks its 60th anniversary, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
