First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic is on a visit to Israel, where during a meeting with senior officials of that country it was concluded that there is a high level of friendship between the two countries and the two peoples, especially confirmed in the most difficult moments in history.

Dacic spoke yesterday with top officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Regional Development of Israel Tzachi Hanegbi and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs at the Office of the Prime Minister Michael Oren.
On that occasion, he expressed his gratitude for the support and understanding of Israel on the issue of Kosovo-Metohija, and the Israeli side confirmed its firm commitment to maintain that position.
Israeli officials expressed gratitude to the First Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia for the adoption of the Law on Restitution of Holocaust Victims’ Assets in Serbia and Serbia’s commitment to complete the project of construction of the Memorial Centre “Staro Sajmiste”.
During the talks it was noted that this visit is another confirmation of the very good relations between the two countries and the increasingly good mutual understanding on issues of common interest.
Dacic also visited the Holocaust Memorial Centre “Yad Vashem" in Jerusalem, where he laid a wreath in the Hall of Remembrance and bowed to the victims killed in the Jasenovac concentration camp.
He also visited the grave of Shimon Peres, the recently deceased former president of Israel, where he laid a wreath, according to a statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
