Speaking at an annual press conference, Dacic said that during Malta’s presidency over the EU Serbia could open chapters 20 and 29, which are related to entrepreneurship and the Customs Union.
When it comes to Chapter 31, which concerns the common foreign and security policy, he said that this chapter was not discussed and that according to the experience of other countries that had passed the accession process, this chapter is opened at the end of the negotiation process.
The First Deputy Prime Minister expressed his dissatisfaction with the speed of opening chapters, and recalled that Croatia blocked this process without foundation several times and that that is great abuse.
We want to go towards the European Union, but Serbia will not allow humiliation and conditioning, Dacic underlined.
He recalled that Serbia has so far opened six chapters, four of which this year and it closed one provisionally.
Dacic underlined that it’s high time the Brussels agreement was implemented because Serbia is paying the price for Pristina’s refusal to implement the agreement on the formation of the Community of Serbian municipalities.
That is why Europe should make up its mind, whether the Community of Serbian municipalities will be formed or not. If not, then Serbia will get organised in another way, the First Deputy Prime Minister said.
He underlined that it is not Serbia’s fault that the agreement on the Community of Serbian municipalities is not implemented and on its path towards the EU it is conditioned by dialogue with Pristina.
