Dacic once again congratulated Guterres on his new function and wished him a successful performance of responsible duty of the Secretary General of the United Nations, an organisation that has a historic contribution in preserving and building peace in the world.
He underlined that Serbia is committed to peace, stability and confidence building in the region, and that we expect continued operation of UNMIK in the unreduced scope and with unaltered mandate in Kosovo-Metohija.
The First Deputy Prime Minister invited Guterres to visit Serbia next year and, among other things, to officially open the UN house which the Serbian government has ceded free of charge to the UN team in Serbia for the next ten years so that all UN agencies, programmes and funds in Serbia could be under the same roof, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
