The Mayor presented the potentials of Tianjin, one of the four Chinese cities directly under the government of the People's Republic of China, with more than 15 million inhabitants, which in recent years has experienced an exceptionally dynamic development, by which it is in the first place among cities in the north of China.
The GDP in Tianjin was around $250 billion last year, with growth of 9.1% in the first nine months of this year and an increase in investment of 10% compared to the same period last year.
Both sides noted the existence of significant potential for strengthening the overall cooperation between Serbia and Tianjin, especially in the fields of the economy, investment and agriculture.
It was estimated that the forthcoming abolition of visas on ordinary passports for citizens of Serbia and China will open up opportunities to strengthen cooperation in tourism, which is why it is necessary to urgently open a direct airline route between the two countries.
Wang expressed particular interest in the establishment of an air service between Belgrade and Tianjin, bearing in mind the proximity of Beijing and the merger plan of the two cities.
Dacic also visited the special economic and technological zone in Tianjin and “Great Wall” car factory, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
