During the meeting, the two officials highlighted the need to maintain the pace of the accession process, in spite of all the challenges the European Union faces.
In this respect, they pointed to the message from the Summit of the Western Balkans in Paris held in July 2016, where the continuation of the enlargement policy was clearly confirmed.
Also, they underlined the need to present the question of importance of EU enlargement from the aspect of positive effects on the stability of the EU and the region, as well as of contribution that the Western Balkans have for the EU as an important geo-strategic area.
Dacic reiterated the commitment of Serbia to improving relations with all its neighbours, and expressed the hope that all outstanding issues will be resolved bilaterally and not through the process of accession negotiations.
They also talked about dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, which is held with the mediation of the European Union.
The First Deputy Prime Minister pointed to the need to take into account during dialogue the interests of both sides and make progress in the implementation of the agreements reached in Brussels.
Bearing in mind the interest of Hahn in the issues from the framework of Chapter 31, which are very present in our public, Dacic pointed out that Serbia is deeply committed to cooperation with the EU in the CFSP and the CSDP, which should not only be looked at through the issue of harmonisation of Serbia with the decisions of the EU.
Intensive cooperation, he said, is taking place in a number of areas in which Serbia contributes significantly to the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) of the EU.
