Baku, 4 Dec 2016 –Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Nebojsa Stefanovic started today his two-day visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan during which he will meet with top government officials, President of the country Ilham Aliyev, Parliament Speaker Ogtay Asadov and Minister of the Interior Ramil Usubov.
During his visit to Baku, Stefanovic will also speak with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov and Minister for Emergency Situations Kamaladdin Haydarov.
He said that he is greatly honoured to have the opportunity to visit Baku and to speak with the highest representatives of Azerbaijan about improvement of cooperation between the two countries.
For us it is important that companies from Azerbaijan come to the Serbian market and the investments that have begun to be implemented, and this is an opportunity to talk about new investments.
Also, we will speak about security cooperation that could improve relations between the two ministries of the interior, both in terms of the fight against organised crime and terrorism, and other issues that are of interest to our country, Stefanovic said in Baku.
On the first day of his official visit to Baku, Minister Stefanovic visited the monument to national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, where he laid a wreath and visited the monument of Eternal Flame and the Alley of Martyrs, where he also laid flowers.
