First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic received today Director of the Department for Asia, Middle East, Europe and Latin America of the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations Peter Due during his regular visit to the region.

Dacic expressed the expectation that the UN Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) will continue to operate at full capacity on the basis of its mandate and in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 1244.
The two officials assessed the current situation in Kosovo-Metohija, the operation of UNMIK, further engagement in areas key to the survival of a normal and dignified life of Serbs and other non-Albanian communities in Kosovo, as well as the importance of this mission to help plan the implementation of the agreements reached in Brussels.
During the talks, the contribution of the Republic of Serbia to the peacekeeping missions and operations of the UN was underlined, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
