Dacic stressed that the UN is still necessary, almost as much as in the times when it was first established and its relevance cannot be called into question.
Serbia, he added, is proud to be one of the founders of the only international organisation of all sovereign states, which has served for more than seven decades as a universal platform for the peaceful resolution of disputes, exchange of opinions and views of Member States on a number of issues of importance to people's lives.
He added that we are faced with a migrant and refugee crisis, whose humanitarian and security scope goes beyond one country or one region, stressing that additional efforts are needed in considering this serious global challenge, and finding a comprehensive solution, both at European and at the level of the UN.

Dacic reiterated that our country is committed to the defence of international law, including UN Security Council Resolution 1244, which protects the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia.
We will continue to oppose attempts at abuse and the unilateral acts of Pristina since we are convinced that dialogue and peaceful resolution of all issues that are important for the Serbian and Albanian communities are the only way to create a compromise and lasting solution, Dacic concluded.
