Speaking at a press conference after the government session, which was attended by Chinese Ambassador to Serbia Li Mancang, he said that this is a historic day for the two countries.
If the Chinese government accepts the proposal of Serbia, citizens will not need visas for stays up to 30 days, and the decision could take effect by the end of the year, he explained.
According to Dacic, this will positively affect the development of cooperation in all fields – from politics, economics, culture, science to tourism.
He noted that the draft agreement on mutual visa-free regime, together with the Strategic Partnership Agreement, is a reflection of friendship and mutual trust towards China.
Serbia has 63 countries with which it signed such agreements and our goal is to increase that number, he said.
Mancang stressed that Serbia is the first country in Europe with which China is ready to sign a visa abolition agreement, which proves that the two countries cultivate mutual respect and trust.
He said that when the agreement enters into force, more tourists and investors from China will come to Serbia, and that more Serbs will be able to travel to China.
Following the decision of the government of Serbia and the government of China the process will soon start, the Ambassador said and expressed confidence that China will most certainly make the same decision.
