They concluded that cooperation of the Ministry and the IOM is excellent and agreed on further steps in the implementation of project initiatives.
Speaking about the situation of irregular migrants in the region, as well as in the countries on the Balkan route, Stefanovic pointed to the necessity of a common solution to this problem, which will require less financial resources and contribute to greater security and stability.
He stressed that Serbia will remain a reliable partner on the migrant route and is ready to help and do whatever is necessary to preserve the stability of migratory flows in accordance with applicable law and humanitarian law.
Markovic announced the EU donation in the amount of about €1 million, which is aimed at managing migration crisis in Serbia, as well as the donation of the Embassy of Japan in Serbia to the Interior Ministry in the form of ten-terrain vehicles and three minibuses for the needs of the border police on the ground, according to a statement of the Ministry of the Interior.
