Energy security important for regional stability

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic met today with Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Energy of the State Department Mary Warlick to discusss energy security of Serbia and the Western Balkans.

Dacic pointed out that for Serbia and the region, energy security is a significant economic, foreign policy and security issue.
He pointed out that Serbia is striving to ensure energy supplies that will be stable over the long term, Dacic noted, expressing Serbia's readiness to participate in projects that would make this possible in the future.
Warlick, who is on a visit to Serbia, conveyed US support for diversifying sources of gas and other fuels, which she and Dacic said was significant for long-term stability of all countries of the region, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
He pointed out that Serbia is striving to ensure energy supplies that will be stable over the long term, Dacic noted, expressing Serbia's readiness to participate in projects that would make this possible in the future.
