Serbia vitally interested in regional stability

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic announced that tomorrow Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic and Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic will meet with leaders of Serbs from Bosnia-Herzegovina in order to examine the position of the Peace Implementation Council in Bosnia-Herzegovina against the referendum in Republika Srpska.

Dacic told reporters last night that the meeting which will be held at the Presidency of Serbia, and whose participants will be President of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic, Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic and Minister of Justice Nela Kuburovic, will deal with the situation in the region and maintaining security and stability.

He said that the Serbian President called the prime minister and ministers in the Serbian government for an urgent meeting regarding the situation in the region and certain decisions on Bosnia-Herzegovina and Republika Srpska which are affecting the entire region, including Serbia.

According to him, the measures are already being taken and will be taken to protect national and state interests of Serbia.

The citizens of Serbia can be tranquil. The security and stability in the country will not be jeopardised and, hopefully, in the entire region. We are vitally interested in preserving security and stability in the region, Dacic concluded.
