Stefanovic said after the meeting with Pinter in Hajdukovo that they spoke about sending members of the Hungarian police to the border with Macedonia and Bulgaria.
The Deputy Prime Minister stressed the importance of joint patrols at the Hungarian-Serbian border, and stressed that our cooperation mechanisms work well and that Hungary is working intensively with our country to preserve security.
We want to show that Serbia will not in any way tolerate smugglers and illegal attempts at crossing the border, be it entering or leaving the country, Stefanovic stated.
According to him, the process of readmission is important because in that way we want to reduce the number of migrants who cannot seek asylum in our countries and in Europe, and to enable their return to their country of origin.
Pinter said that police cooperation between the two countries is excellent and stressed that Hungary proposed to provide aid to Serbia in guarding the borders, and if needed it will also provide legal assistance.
