First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic said today that Austria is Serbia’s large and important economic partner, adding that foreign trade exchange between the two countries last year amounted to €800 million.
Dacic said after a meeting of the
Serbian delegation led by Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Austria Sebastian Kurz that the joint effort is to reach €1 billion in foreign trade exchange.
The First Deputy Prime Minister said that our country expects further support of Austria when it comes to European integration as well as the opening of new chapters in the negotiations with the EU.
Also, he said, our country expects and hopes that Austria will contribute to calming tensions in the region.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Austria Sebastian Kurz expressed his country's gratitude for the contribution of Serbia to reduction of a wave of migrants by closing the Balkan route.
