First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic and Israeli Ambassador to Serbia Yossef Levy agreed during today's meeting in Belgrade that in this period there has been significant progress in bilateral relations between Serbia and Israel.

Levi, who is about to finish his five-year term in Serbia, reiterated that Israel maintains the position of non-recognition of the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo, in accordance with Israeli positions that were presented to President Tomislav Nikolic during his official visit to that country in May 2013.
He expressed hope that Serbia will become a member of the EU as soon as possible and that even then it will be among those EU member states that have a positive attitude towards Israel.
