Belgrade ring road to link corridors 10, 11

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic signed today the Memorandum of understanding for realisation of the project of construction of a ring road around Belgrade with two companies from China and Azerbaijan.

The Memorandum was signed by Deputy Director of Chinese company Synohydro Corporation for Eurasia Yang Fan and Director of Azerbaijani company Azvirt Fikrat Najafov.

Mihajlovic said that the construction of the ring road around Belgrade will not only connect Corridor 10 and Corridor 11, but will also further increase road safety, reduce congestion in the centre of Belgrade and emissions and noise in the city.

Our goal is to finish as soon possible the ring road around Belgrade and that is why I signed this document on behalf of the Serbian government with the renowned international companies that have extensive experience in the design, construction, financing and investment in infrastructure, Mihajlovic stated.

At the insistence of Deputy Prime Minister Zorana Mihajlovic, a special working group for the project of the Belgrade ring road has been formed, so that this very important infrastructure project could be finished in a timely manner and with the best quality.

The memorandum signed will accelerate the realisation of this project and open the possibility for future cooperation on road infrastructure projects in Serbia.
