Improvement of bilateral relations between Serbia, US

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic met today with US Assistant Secretary of State of the United States for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland, who is on a visit to the Republic of Serbia.

The interlocutors expressed mutual satisfaction with the improvement of overall bilateral relations, especially due to the presence of developed political dialogue.
Dacic thanked the US side because of its support for the process of European integration of Serbia, which resulted in the opening of chapters 23 and 24, and expressed hope that the support will continue during further European path of the Republic of Serbia.
Nuland praised the constructive role of Serbia in the preservation of stability in the Western Balkans and stressed that this is an issue to which the United States attaches great importance.
At today's meeting they highlighted the importance of security cooperation, particularly in combating terrorism and violent extremism, which is currently the biggest global challenge.
On the American side the meeting was attended by Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defence Michael Carpenter and US Ambassador to Serbia Kyle Scott, a statement the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reads.
