Decision to open chapters recognition to consistent policy of Serbia

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic said today that the decision on the opening of chapters 23 and 24 is exclusively the result of a firm and determined stance of Serbia that has made it clear to the EU that it seeks mutual respect and that it will not tolerate blackmail and humiliation.
Dacic said in a written statement to the press that this is the only way to defend our national interests, while continuing on our European road.
He expressed hope that the European Union has learnt lessons that there will not be double standards any more when it comes to Serbia.
This decision is also a recognition for consistent and reform policy of the government of Serbia and Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, which yesterday at a summit in Paris encountered the full verification by the leading figures of the most important countries in Europe and the EU itself, the First Deputy Prime Minister concluded.
