Serbia ready for peaceful solution of outstanding issues

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic said today that the most important topics of the Conference of Western Balkan Leaders in Paris are regional stability and European integration, stressing Serbia's readiness to discuss all outstanding issues.

Dacic said that it is most important to continue the work that had been started at the meeting in Berlin, then in Vienna, and announced that the next meeting will be in Italy next year.

For us it is most important that the Western Balkan agenda be present in Brussels, among the most important members of the EU, he added.

Dacic noted that the decision of the EU not to open chapters 23 and 24, and at the same time to continue negotiations with Montenegro and Turkey, has left a very negative impression because Serbia requires elementary respect.

If we fulfill everything that we are asked to, we do not expect to be punished, Dacic stated and added that the request of Croatia is not related to something that Serbia should have done, but is based on bilateral relations.

We are ready to resolve outstanding issues through dialogue, but Croatia has not expressed such readiness because it has not delegated people in various commissions to resolve outstanding issues such as borders and other issues, Dacic said and expressed the hope that this question will be solved by the EU.
