Dacic said in a statement to Chinese state television CTV that Serbia is the most reliable partner of China in Southeast Europe, and perhaps in the whole of Europe, and underlined that the Sino-Serbian relations have progressed during years of friendship.
He pointed out that the visit of the President of China will be a symbolic moment in the strategic relationship between the two countries, and expressed hope that these relations will be promoted on this occasion.
The First Deputy Prime Minister recalled that the peoples of the two countries have a long history of cooperation and that Serbia and China insist on an independent and peaceful diplomatic policy.
At the international level, the two countries believe in peaceful development. When it comes to issues related to national sovereignty, both countries are strongly trying to protect each and every inch of their territory, Dacic stated.
He said that the two countries have a deep understanding of sovereignty and conveyed gratitude to the government of the People's Republic of China for its support to our country in terms of non-recognition of the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo.
The First Deputy Prime Minister expressed the hope that the two countries will cooperate in several areas, such as culture, education, science, sport and medicine, but that the focus will be on economic cooperation.
Dacic said that during the visit of Xi Jinping to Serbia several agreements will be signed, a joint declaration will be made, and relations between the two countries will be upgraded into a comprehensive strategic partnership.
