Mihajlovic told the press after a meeting with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mission, led by James Roaf, that the section Surcin-Obrenovac is part of the motorway from Belgrade to Cacak, and the only section on that motorway whose construction is still not secured by a contract.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that during the visit of the President of China, which starts on 17 June, it is expected that between 18 and 22 agreements and protocols will be signed, which will apply to the industrial zone, health, culture and education, as well as infrastructure.
During the visit of Xi Jinping, or in August, a commercial agreement for the construction of the Belgrade-Budapest railway should also be signed, she said and added that the announced deadline for the modernisation of that railway will be respected and that it will be completed within two or two and a half years.
The modernisation of the Belgrade-Nis railway will also be discussed, the Deputy Prime Minister announced and recalled that the construction of the Stara Pazova-Novi Sad railway is expected to be financed through a Russian loan.
She said that the surplus of employees in the Serbian Railways, according to the job classification made by that company, is between 2,500 and 3,000 people, that negotiations with trade unions are underway, and that this job should be completed in principle by the end of the year.
The model that will be established for the Serbian Railways will be used for other public companies too, the Minister said, adding that the best social welfare programme is being discussed with five trade unions of the Serbian Railways.
The Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs and the Ministry of Finance are also taking part in the negotiations.
