Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Kori Udovicki said today in Sofia, where she participated in the work of the South-East Europe Cooperation Process (SEECP), chaired by Bulgaria, that economic development is key to regional stability.
Udovicki pointed to the important role of the SEECP over the past 20 years in the development of the region of Southeast Europe, multilateral cooperation based on economic development, political and economic stability and good neighbourly relations, and pointed out that this topic was of the utmost importance to EU accession.
She added that the greatest contribution of the SEECP should be creating a new future of South East Europe, based on peace, democracy, regional stability and economic development, as well as the full integration of the entire region into the EU.
Talking about the reform processes in the countries of the region during the past year, Udovicki stressed that each country is faced with many challenges and that all nevertheless have maintained stability in the region.
