Udovicki expressed the gratitude to the High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) for support to the activities envisaged under the Agreement of Understanding, which expires in December this year, and which envisages, among other things, the training of registrars, of employees in social care centres and police departments in Serbia.
Training will be organised in connection with the implementation of laws and regulations governing the registration of data in registers, with the emphasis on anti-discrimination and good governance.
Schodder stressed that even after the expiration of the agreement, the UNHCR will continue to give Serbia free legal aid for persons who are not registered in birth registries.
Referring to the refugee crisis, the interlocutors noted that there are lots of opportunities to improve the process, both the conditions of reception, temporary or permanent residence in our country, and of integration into society.
Although there is still a lot of work, Serbia should be commended for its management of the refugee crisis, especially for the level of freedom of movement of refugees across the country, Schodder underlined.
