Dacic expresses condolences over death of Guido Westerwelle

Belgrade, 19 March 2016

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic sent a telegram of condolences to Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier over the death of former German foreign minister Guido Westerwelle.

"We have received with disbelief and sadness the news of the death of former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany Guido Westerwelle.

Guido Westerwelle will be remembered for contributing to the improvement of bilateral relations between Serbia and the Federal Republic of Germany, by strong support to the European integration of our country and for strengthening cooperation and trust in the Western Balkans.

Please accept my most sincere condolences over the death of Guido Westerwelle, and please convey to his family our heartfelt sympathy at this difficult time," reads the telegram of the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
