Development of cooperation of Serbia, Kazakhstan in mutual interest

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic reiterated today the petition to Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Massimov for the export of 5,000 cars made in Serbia on the market of the Customs Union.

After the meeting in Astana, Ljajic said that Kazakhstan has been the only country of the Customs Union so far, which also comprises Russia and Belarus, that was against it because it wanted to protect its local production.
The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan promised to examine that petition once more and to do everything he can so that the petition be accepted, the Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia said.
When it comes to economic relations between the two countries, for Serbia it is the most important that it brought back this question to the negotiating table, he added.
According to Ljajic, another key issue in today's talks was the formation of joint ventures, especially in the field of agriculture and the pharmaceutical industry, bearing in mind the interests of both sides and the complementarity of the two economies in these sectors.
