First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic sent a letter of condolences to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon over the death of former secretary-general of that organisation Boutros Boutros-Ghali.
“I am extending to you my most sincere condolences over the death of the former secretary-general of the United Nations Boutros Boutros-Ghali.
He will be remembered in the history of the former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia as a man who assumed the position of the UN Secretary-General in the most delicate moments and who faced one of the most difficult tasks in that five-year mandate, and that is the solving of war conflicts in the former Yugoslavia”, reads the telegram of condolences.
