Bilateral relations between Serbia, Netherlands on the rise

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic and Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Lilianne Ploumen agreed today that the bilateral relations between the two countries are on the rise, with no outstanding issues.

The officials noted that there is room for further improvement, particularly in the field of economic cooperation.

Dacic expressed his gratitude for the Dutch support to Serbia's European integration and expressed confidence that during its presidency of the Council of the European Union, next chapters in the negotiations will be opened.

Ploumen conveyed the willingness of the Netherlands to continue to support Serbia on its EU integration path, and emphasized that the Netherlands recognises Serbia's determination to persist in comprehensive reforms.

The ministers exchanged views on the migrant crisis, pointing out that the agreements reached should be implemented.

Dacic stressed that it is necessary for Serbia to be promptly informed of the measures taken by individual EU countries.

Ploumen especially thanked for the assistance that Serbia offers to refugees, of what was personally convinced during the visit to Sid, when she presented four thousand sleeping bags and four ambulances as a donation to the Netherlands, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
