In addition to attending the conference, Dacic had a series of bilateral meetings with foreign ministers of several countries, and countries of the region.
He said that the Munich Security Conference is one of the biggest world meetings that deal with international policy, security and defence, so this time it has also gathered a great number of world’s top officials and experts on the matter.
The conference is dealing with topical issues – fight against terrorism, fight against the Islamic State, migrant and refugee crisis and geopolitical relations.
The First Deputy Prime Minister said that the speech of Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev is expected, of US Secretary of State John Kerry, and of foreign ministers, prime ministers and presidents of the countries attending the event.
From the countries of the region, those present are Prime Minister of Montenegro Milo Djukanovic, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia-Herzegovina Denis Zvizdic, President of Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, President of the Republic of Macedonia Gjorge Ivanov and President of Slovenia Borut Pahor.
Dacic said that he had bilateral meetings with the foreign ministers of Italy and Egypt, and of countries of the region.
Last evening he also spoke with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg Jean Asselborn.
I think it is very important that we presented here the position of Serbia that it wants to be a constructive factor when it comes to peace and stability. We also give great support to the international fight against terrorism, as well as to the solving of the problem of migrant crisis, Dacic explained.
The First Deputy Prime Minister pointed out that Minister of Foreign Affairs of Austria Sebastian Kurz informed that he wants to schedule for 24 February a session of interior and foreign ministers of the countries belonging to the “Balkan Route", as that is when the problems caused by the closure of borders by Austria are expected to start.
We are ready for all those events, we will have a humane treatment of refugees and migrants, but we will certainly protect our national and state interests, Dacic concluded.
