Ljajic said at a press conference held after
the meeting that First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and he held with President of Confederation of Autonomous Trade Unions of Serbia Ljubisav Orbovic, President of the Trade Union Confederation "Independence " Branislav Canak and President of the Union of Employers of Serbia Nebojsa Atanackovic, that the group will work as of 3 February.
He said that parliament should adopt the amendments by 30 June and that today's discussion represents the beginning of a new social dialogue.
He explained that the newly formed working group will examine whether it is necessary to adopt a completely new labour law or to amend the existing one.
We plan to have draft amendments prepared by 1 May, so that the legislation could be adopted by 30 June, said Ljajic.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that meetings wlll be held every 15 days.
Ljajic also said that there is no stability without the agreement of all relevant social factors, i.e., trade unions and employers and added that the new law will have wide support.
