Day of Serbian Unity to be celebrated outside borders of Serbia, Republika Srpska for the first time

Minister without portfolio in charge of coordinating activities and measures in the field of relations with the diaspora Djordje Milicevic announced today that the Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom and the National Flag will be celebrated outside the borders of Serbia and Republika Srpka for the first time, in Germany and Montenegro.

Milicevic said at a press conference that he will attend the marking of this holiday in Frankfurt am Main and Berane, on behalf of President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic.

He underlined that he is honoured that he will speak at the ceremony at the Rossmarkt Square in Frankfurt am Main and invited compatriots who live in this city and in the state of Hesse, as well as in the whole of Germany, to attend the celebration of this holiday on 15 September at 18.00.

According to him, the Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom and the National Flag will be celebrated in Germany as part of the "Days of Serbian Culture" event, which will last for three days.

Milicevic stated that the day before, on 14 September, he will speak at a celebration in Berane, Montenegro, and said that the Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom and the National Flag should be an incentive for us to unite and work together to strengthen our community both in Serbia and around the world.

He announced that during his visit to Germany, he will have a series of bilateral meetings, including a meeting with State Secretary of the state of Hesse Uwe Becker, as well as that he will open the ICT forum "TechConnect 2023" on the premises of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
