Speaking at a joint news conference with Szijjártó, Đurić said that he and the head of Hungarian diplomacy discussed how to accelerate the construction of new oil and gas pipelines, which will ensure greater energy security for both countries in these difficult times.
We also discussed how to increase cross-border circulation, and in this regard, our services will work to increase the capacity for cargo transport across border crossings, Đurić emphasised.
The Minister particularly pointed out the fact that Hungary shows great understanding for Serbia's European integration and for issues of the position and rights of Serbs in the region, in accordance with the Brussels and Dayton agreements.
Đurić praised the attitude of the Hungarian state towards the Serbian community in that country, adding that Serbia is also trying to further strengthen and improve the position of the Hungarian community in Serbia.
Szijjártó stated that in times of global challenges, cooperation between Serbia and Hungary is gaining importance, saying that together, in the spirit of friendly relations, we will overcome all problems.
Speaking about European integration, he reiterated Hungary's position that it is in the interest of the European Union for Serbia to become a member as soon as possible and that it deserves it with its economic progress and development capacities.
The Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs announced that the Bački Breg-Hercegszántó border crossing will be modernised.
Đurić and Szijjártó signed a Protocol between the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade on the joint use of premises for the needs of diplomatic and consular missions in Thessaloniki.
