The Ministry of Culture and Media stated that Tasovac and Zuroff higlighted the necessity of intensifying activities on the integrated control of the site of the former concentration camp at Staro Sajmiste in Belgrade.
The complex should involve several segments – the memorial , educational and research parts.
They also hailed the initiative that the Museum of Genocide Victims be permanently housed in that memorial complex.
They also agreed to form the International Advisory Board which would include the leading Serbian and international experts.
The Institute for Protection of Cultural Monuments of Belgrade will intensify activities in the elaboration of the determination of the whole complex of spatial ensembles of great importance .
The Ministry of Culture and Media expressed full commitment to the preservation of memory of the World War II victims in Staro Sajmiste – Jews , Serbs, Roma and others.
It also emphasises the importance of establishing a culture of remembrance for the victims of the Holocaust in our territory .
The meeting was attended by State Secretary of the Ministry of Culture and Media Dejan Ristic, Secretary of the Ministry of Culture and Media Igor Jovicic and chairman of the board of the Museum of Genocide Victims Bishop Jovan.
