Minister of Culture Nikola Selaković and Minister of Culture of Cyprus Vasiliki Kassianidou reached an agreement today on the drafting of a memorandum of cooperation between the two ministries in the field of culture, as well as a special agreement on preventing illicit trade in cultural goods.

Selaković, together with Kassianidou, who is visiting Serbia on the occasion of Cyprus’ participation as a guest of honour at the 68th International Book Fair, visited the Viminacium Archaeological Park.
Previously, the interlocutors also discussed organising the Days of Serbian Culture, exhibitions dedicated to Serbian medieval monuments in danger in Kosovo and Metohija, as well as various performances by contemporary artists from Serbia in Cyprus next year.
Kassianidou stressed that Cyprus and Serbia share similar problems related to cultural heritage, adding that the goal is therefore to strengthen cooperation in the fight against illicit trade in cultural goods, as well as in the protection of cultural heritage.
According to her, the two countries can do much more together both internationally and in international organisations.
