"In hoc signo" opera closes celebration of 1700th anniversary of Edict of Milan

The premiere of the opera "In hoc signo"("By this Sign") performed on the main stage of the National Theatre in Belgrade marked the closing of a series of events that were held as part of the celebration of the 1700th anniversary of the Edict of Milan.

The opera was viewed by Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic and Serbian Patriarch Irinej, who are also co-chairmen of the Organisation board for the observation of 17 centuries since the adoption of the Edict of Milan.
Others officials attending were Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, Minister of Defence Nebojsa Rodic, Minister of Energy, Development and Environmental Protection Zorana Mihajlovic, Minister of Construction and Urban Planning Velimir Ilic, Minister of Economy Sasa Radulovic, Minister without portfolio Sulejman Ugljanin and many other.
"In hoc signo" opera was made especially for the celebration of anniversary of the Edict of Milan. It was composed by Don Marco Frisina and written by Dejan Miladinovic, who is also director of the show. The opera was performed by the Opera ensemble and soloists of the National Theatre, under the baton of Maestro Dejan Savic.
