No new conditions on Serbia's path towards EU

Prime Minister Ivica Dacic said that he expects a positive decision of the European Council on the start of accession negotiations with the EU.
Dacic said in an interview with the daily newspaper "Vecernje Novosti" that there is a good chance for the first intergovernmental conference to be held in December, after the summit of European leaders.
He pointed out that there are no new conditions for Serbia's EU membership, and reiterated that the implementation of the Brussels agreement is crucial for the continuation of European integration.
The Prime Minister said that there is an attempt to tighten the negotiating framework, which should define a multi-year process aimed at Serbia’s EU membership.
At this stage of European integration there will be certain conditions of Germany, and they will be acceptable if they do not affect the essence of our statehood and if they are not damaging for our national interest, Dacic concluded.
