Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Mrkic said that the Ministry's priority, and that of the government as a whole, will be to further strengthen economy and speed up development, the EU, cooperation with traditional friends across the world and neighbors in the region.
Mrkic said in an interview with the Novi Sad-based daily Dnevnik that the government will be totally committed to resolving the economic problems, ensuring a drop in unemployment, attracting investments, spreading a message across the world that Serbia is determined to work toward economic recovery and speed up its development.
That is the priority above all priorities of my ministry too, including the entire diplomatic, consular network, he said.
Serbia also continues negotiating with the EU, strengthening its excellent ties with Beijing, Moscow and Washington, and with a great number of traditional friends on all continents, the Minister said.
We place a special emphasis on relations with neighboring countries, and we are doing everything in our power to ensure that they keep following a positive trend, Mrkic said.
