President of the Organisational board for erecting the monument to Nikola Tesla Aleksandar Vlajkovic said that a monument to renowned scientist Nikola Tesla will be put up on the occasion of 70 years since his death in front of his laboratory on Long Island in the State of New York in September.
Vlajkovic said at a press conference at the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SANU) in Belgrade that Tesla's laboratory in Shoreham in New York will be turned into the museum of Nikola Tesla in the United States.
He said that the Tesla monument will be temporarily set up in Belgrade's Knez Mihajlova Street.
The exhibition devoted to Tesla's work will be opened at the SANU Gallery on 21August.
The exhibition will also be staged in the building of Serbia's Mission to the UN in New York next month when the Tesla monument will be unveiled.
The exhibition comprises 40 works of eminent Serbian painters inspired by Tesla's character and work.
