Vucic said at a press conference in the Serbian government that setting the date is good and important news for Serbia, because it confirms that our country respects what has been agreed and that it wants to give to its citizens the opportunity enjoyed by citizens of EU countries.
The First Deputy Prime Minister pointed out that getting the date will not solve all our problems, nor will the negotiations be easy, and added that Serbia will respect what it has signed, but it would not accept new conditions.
He underlined that one of the priorities in the near future will be reducing unemployment below 20% and announced simplification of administrative procedures, with the changes to the Labour Law in order to facilitate investments by foreign companies.
Vucic stated that Serbia must get modernised and reformed and that we must not be afraid of changes.
The First Deputy Prime Minister said that there is a lot of work to be done by January and the start of the talks, including the reconstruction of the government which should be finished by 27 July.
He announced that by 27 July, the first anniversary of the present government, at least two or three more cases of 24 disputed privatisations will be resolved, and that by the end of the year all 24 cases will be finished completely.
Concerning the fight against corruption, Vucic said that he will submit a detailed report before 27 July.
