Agreement on cooperation between Serbia, France in field of justice

Minister of Justice and Public Administration Nikola Selakovic and CEO of the Foundation for Continental Law Patrick Papazian signed a cooperation agreement that will contribute to further improvement of relations between Serbia and France in the field of judiciary.

After the signing of the agreement, Selakovic said that the document allows for cooperation in the development of notary system in Serbia.
According to him, the first notaries in Serbia should start working in September 2014, when the implementation of the amended law on public notaries is expected.
The Minister expressed confidence that all the good experiences of French public notary system will find fertile ground in Serbia.
Papazian said he was very pleased to participate in the strengthening and development of the French-Serbian friendship in the field of justice.
He pointed out that the judicial cooperation between the two countries is facilitated by the fact that both countries apply the continental law.
French Ambassador to Serbia Francois Xavier Deniau, who attended the signing, welcomed the strenghtening of legal cooperation between the two countries with the same tradition.
He said that the agreement allows for the participation of students from Serbia in French Summer University.
