The signing of the agreement was also attended by German Ambassador to Serbia Heinz Wilhelm, and through this project Germany will support Serbia with €2.2 million for an efficient and professional preparation for EU accession negotiations in the fields of agriculture, economy, financial services and regional development.
In the realisation of this project Serbia will have a significant help of colleagues from Slovenia, Pajevic said, noting that there is a possibility to include professionals from other countries that have recently joined the EU and whose experience is precious.
Pajevic expressed his gratitude to the government of Germany for its continuous support, and recalled that the German Association for International Cooperation (GIZ) has monitored successfully Serbia's efforts to modernise its administrative structure for the last 13 years.
Wilhelm explained that the realisation of this project was planned as early as June 2011 at the level of the two governments, when Serbia still did not have the candidate status for accession to the EU, which clearly shows the great interest of Germany in Serbia's European perspective, in which it has always believed.
The project will be implemented in two phases, first of which will last until mid-2015 and the second by the end of 2018. The project covers 15 out of the 35 chapters of the Community acquis.
