Addressing the forum, Petkovic highlighted outstanding bilateral relations between Serbia and China and stressed that China has a traditional and reliable friend in Serbia.
Also, the Minister of Culture and Information said that Serbia is ready to deepen and enrich this strategic partnership and take concrete actions to that end, noting that one of the concrete results is today's joint meeting.
I believe that in the time of the world crisis, which is not only economical, but social too, we have to join energies and available capacities in order to get the best possible results, and these are joint programmes and projects that truly contribute to the improvement of cooperation in the field of culture and arts, Petkovic underlined.
At the First ministerial forum of cultural cooperation of China and the countries of central and Eastern Europe, the guidelines on the level of the 16 participating countries have been adopted that define the need for further cooperation, and which will result in the development of action plans aimed at preserving cultural diversity by encouraging direct cooperation between institutions of culture, art groups and festivals and exploring new models of exchange between parties that are signatories to the document.
