Japanese donation for repair of "Sava Kerkovic" school in Ljig

Representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development attended today the signing of an agreement on donation of the Japanese government to "Sava Kerkovic " elementary school in Ljig worth approximately €89,000.

The donation agreement was signed by Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of Japan in Belgrade Kazuaki Kameda and school principal Bojan Kojic.
Kameda said at the press conference that this donation will help provide better conditions for teaching, and explained that it will be used for the reconstruction of water supply and sewerage system in the school and around the school, as well as for the purchase of new chairs for 11 classrooms.
Assistant Minister in the Department of higher education, investment, student standard and public procurement Slobodan Stupar said that this is a very significant donation, given that the total budget fund for such purposes in primary education is only RSD 51 million, while the needs are much greater.
