Police Director Milorad Veljovic stated that the police will focus on the fight againt crime and corruption and investigations into 24 controversial privatisations in the coming period.

Veljovic said to the first press conference since he was reelected Police Director that the police have assumed responsibility to investigate these privatisations and that not even those privileged will be spared during the process.
He added he expects these cases to be completed by the end of the year.
He announced that one of the priorities will be to provide better equipment and training for the police.
Veljovic pointed out that his obligation is also to continue to work on depoliticisation of the police.
One of the priorities is to find fugitive drug boss Darko Saric and bring him to justice, he said.
Veljovic also announced that heads of police administrations in Nis and Novi Sad will be appointed in ten days, on which he will decide in consultation with Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic.
